Local to the southern California area, USC hosts the NCAA national championships this year for the men's college teams. Only four teams in this tournament with one being the host school USC. There is no TV coverage for these finals, but you can watch the entire matches online live.
This weeked saw the latest of the FIVB tour continue and with some of the powerhouse teams taking a break this weekend (including Rogers/Dalhausser, Alison/Emanuel, Brink/Reckermann), the finals were dominated by the Brazilian teams. Both the women's final and the men's final were Brazil versus Brazil. For the Brazilian men, it is pretty impressive that even with the top Brazilian team out of this tournament with the
The first FIVB tour site has come and gone, and it was a good one for the USA teams. Brazil has been known to be one of the most difficult places for the Amercans to find any love, and this tournament was no exception. With the injury to Alison of Brazil's top team, the USA team of Dalhausser and Rogers were in good shape to come out with the victory on the Brazilian sand. However, to add insult to injury, the Brazilian fans were forced to watch an all American final with the team of Lucena and Fuerbringe
It finally looks to be some quality news coming from the AVP front. Just in time for the 2012 summer, the AVP has been purchased for a reported $2 Million to Donald Sun. As I have previously stated, the iphone settlers of catan game is a really addictive and fun downloadable version of the popular board game. The developers have done a really good job of capturing the game's intricacies while making it easy enough to win at the same time.
Over the past few months, I have played a number of solo games against the computer players and have had some epic battles in which sometimes I come out on top, and sometimes I am surprised with a computer victory, just like in the real board game.
I have been taking a break from long distance running over the past year. The original "excuse" was my wife was pregnant and I usually do my running with her, so I will take a break from running while she is also taking a break from running. During the initial months, I was looking to repair my sore muscles and joints that have taken some rough times during the past years' marathon training. Then, I got really into beach volleyball this summer, playing upwards of 3 times a week (and I don't even live at the beach). With the lov
